we have wfilter here which we have been using for 3 years now. we have recently upgraded to an inhouse exchange server and my question is .... is there an easy way to get wfilter to capture the messages. I guess it is failing as the data is encrypted. i saw an entry in a forum about forwarding all emails to an admin account and then connecting via pop3 to it so the emails are captured.
How to monitor inhouse exchange server emails with WFilter?

How to monitor inhouse exchange server emails with WFilter?
Default exchange server protocol is encrypted. WFilter can not record it.
You have two solutions:
1. Block default exchange protocol to force the clients to use POP3/IMAP/SMTP protocols, which can be supported by WFilter.
This solution is simple. You only need to block exchange ports in the server. However, if you use "Microsoft Outlook" as the email client, it will be very slow to open it because outlook will try to reach the exchange server via default exchange protocol. There will be no problem if you use other email clients.
2. Setup an admin account to monitor other emails. This is a feature of exchange server. So every email will be forwarded to the admin account. Actually, it's not a WFilter solution.
Actually, we're still looking for other solutions. In next version of WFilter, we consider about install an agent program in the exchange server to forward emails to WFilter. So far, it's too early to tell, since everything is still in the lab.
