Monitoring vpn server with WFilter

Postby royal » Thu Feb 10, 2011 2:06 am

hi, I have a few questions: - I have vpn server and sometimes I have 500 online users.

I tested wfilter and it only shows the main computer (not vpn users)

so I need to buy license for 1 user, right?

can wfilter support that kind of huge traffic (500 users) with file writing method without reducing connection speed and etc... ?

Monitoring vpn server with WFilter

WFilter can support 500+ online users, actually WFilter is designed to monitor less than 1000-computers. So 500 online users will not be a problem. Please pay attention to the "recording level" setting in "user-computer table", if the "recording level" is "high"(default), it will consume a lot diskspace due to your huge traffic. You can modify the detailed recording level settings in "Recording Level Settings".

And you only need one 1-user license to monitor the VPN server. However, since WFilter is monitoring and blocking the server only, which means you can only set one policy for all users, so there will be an over-blocking issue. So please evaluate the 1-user license before purchase. You can apply for an evaluation key at: http://www.imfirewall.us/require_evalute.htm
