Identifying blocked ports?

Postby VeeDub » Tue May 01, 2012 11:46 pm

Hello

I have installed WFilter on XP in bridged mode.

I am testing the blocking. Presently TeamViewer is being blocked on my computer.

When I view the Real-time blocking, I can see some entries with unknown protocol, this might be the TeamViewer activity. How do I obtain more details on the unknown protocol entries to establish what they are?

Thanks

VW

Identifying blocked ports?

WFilter has a pattern database to recognize different protocols. For those protocols not in the pattern database, it will be detected as "unknown".

However, it needs skilled network packet analyzing experience for you to identify the unknown protocols by yourself. You can install wireshark to capture certain network packets to check.

If you're not sure, please send us the packet dump file in wireshark format. We will check and tell you what it is.
