Some computers are not monitored by WFilter.

My customer is having an issue where a few computers do not show up for filtering.

Here is the setup:

Computers:

LAN -> Cisco 48 port switch -> to port 1 on...

wifi -> Cisco 48 port switch -> to port 2 on...

...Netgear 48 SmartSwitch -> (port 48 is the "sniffer" going to wfilter)

(Ports 1 and 2 are mirrored/monitered)

Most computers show up in wfilter. But one that is connect to both wifi and lan does not.

Any suggestions?

Two possibilities:

1. The unmonitored computer's cable connection bypasses monitoring. For example, if this computer is connected to another unmirrored port in your cisco 48 switch, it will not be monitored.

As you mentioned, "port 1" and "port 2" are configured as the mirrored ports. However, if a computer is connected to "port 3", it will not be monitored.

So I recommend you to setup the port mirroring in another way: "only mirror the internet port". For example, suppose your ADSL router is connected to "port 4", you only need to set this "port 4" as the mirrored port to monitor all internet usage, since all internet traffic goes through this port.

2. Check "Control Settings"->"User-computer table" to check whether this un-monitored computer is checked as "Enable Monitoring".

Your first solution works. Thanks.
