Questions about website black list and blocking of smtp attachment

Postby Uzair » Sat Jan 28, 2012 8:01 am

I simply want to create a blocking rule to block all web activity and block sending emails with attachments.

I followed all procedures as explained in your help pages but I cannot success.

1. The web activity is blocked but if you enter a https:// site then the wfilter doesn't work and the site is accessible.

2. About the email blocking it simply doesn't work: if I select "block sending email with attachments" I can still send and receive mails with attachments, and if I select "block sending emails" I can still send any kind of emails. It seems that the software is not blocking anything concerning email. I am using Windows XP and outlook express.

1. https websites blocking: To block https access, please enable "HTTPS black/white list" which can be found in "Other" tab of blocking level settings.

2. "block email attachments" and "block email" only blocks "SMTP protocol" emails. For web emails, ssl emails, this option does not work. You can block web emails and ssl based emails in WFilter.
