Mirroring and not able to see wifi traffic

Postby bhughes10 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 2:20 am

I purchased a Cisco RV 110W modem with morroring to use with wFilter and with this option turned on I can see another user traffic plugged into the router but I'm unable to see wifi users traffic. Is this a normal thing?

Thanks,

Wifi users can also be monitored by WFilter. This is related to your port mirroring settings.

Can you post a screenshot of your port mirroring settings for us to check?

And what are the ip address ranges of wifi users and wired users?

Sure, here's what I have set. I'm plugged into port 1

The IP Address are 192.158.1.100 Wired

101 Wired

102 Wifi

103 wifi

104 wired... Using dhcp so they just get the next avavilable.

No problem with your port mirroring settings.

How do you configure WFilter "IP Segments" settings?

Please check and set it to "192.158.1.0/24" to make a try.

Thanks for the suggestion but It's in there. It's actually 192.168.1.0/24 I fat fingered the number the first time I posted. I'm still not seeing and wifi traffic. I'm thinking it's the router some how.

But in your previous post, you mentioned the ip address is "192.158", not "192.168". Is it a spell mistake?

We need a packet dump to diagnose this issue, please follow below steps:

1. In "Help"->"Support", click "Add packet dump file(s)".

2. Choose "for target computer only", and input a wifi computer's ip address, then "Restart Capturing".

3. Access 1-2 webpages in the wifi computer.

4. Click "Stop" in "Help"->"Support", then download the "IMSupport.zip" file.

5. Upload this "IMSupport.zip" or send this file to support@imfirewall.us for us to check.
