My company is considering replacing Websense with WFilter. I've only tested it for a week but I was curious what other long term WFilter users thought of the product compared to Websense and is it a viable apples to apples replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Comparing to websense, wfilter has advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:

1. Wfilter is easier to setup and use with a simple UI.

2. Wfilter is more powerful for real-time monitoring, you can inspect all devices and every internet connections. You also can kill online connections in real-time.

3. WFilter records more internet activities, while websense only records web activities.

4. Affordable price. One time cost.

5. Free upgrade.

Disadvantages:

1. Websense has a better url database.

2. Websense blocking policy settings are more powerful and better organized.

3. Websense has more powerful reports.

Both of the two products are helpful to monitor and filter internet access. Whether wfilter can be a good replacement, it depends on your needs.

One week evaluation is not enough, I would recommend you to evaluate wfilter for more days before making any decision. If your trial expires, you can extend trial by applying a new key at: http://www.imfirewall.us/require_evalute.htm
