Question about licensing and installation of WFilter.

I am planning to install WFilter for trial purposes and have couple of

questions. When should I use the database version of software?

Also, we have 30 computers on the network that need to be monitored, but

half of these computers are laptops that connect using a cable as well using

a wireless connection, thus having 2 IP addresses per computer. In terms of

licensing, do these laptops with 2 IP addresses need one license or two

licenses each?

WFilter database version saves all monitored data to a database. So you can use database tools to manage/backup the data and customize some reports. To use the database version, you need to have an available database.

For your situation, the file-based version is enough.

About the license, since WFilter recognize a computer by its NIC, so the 2 IP addresses laptops needs two license each.
