Identify PCs in WFilter

Do you know of a good document that I could review on MAC IP binding?

Or, what do you guys recommend to identify PCs in WFilter. Currently all of our addresses are dynamic. I could easily revert bach to static, but I'm not sure that would be my preference if there's a better way. Actually I'll wait for your recomendation and any resources you can provide.

We wrote a blog of how to identify computers in WFilter, please check: how to identify computers in WFilter

For MAC ip binding, the best solution is to implement certain binding rules in switches or routers. But I doubt your switches support it. And it is complicated to setup. WFilter also has an ip-mac binding feature, but it only works for single-segment networks. Please check: How to setup ip-mac binding in WFilter?

I think "monitoring/blocking by AD accounts" is the best solution if you have an available microsoft active directory.

If you don't have an AD, "monitoring by MAC address" will also be a good choice if the monitored computers are in a same subnet.

Otherwise, I am afraid you need to make your ip addresses static.
