WFilter can not record emails.

I have installed trial version Wfilter, I am getting logs for websites

and other stuff, however I am not getting any records or logs for the

webmail(hotmail or gmail) also not getting records of mails send and

received through outlook via pop and smtp.

1. Webmail (hotmail and gmail)



Hotmail and gmail can support two protocol modes: http and https. WFilter can only monitor http mode web-based emails. HTTPs traffic is encrypted which can not be decoded. You can check your browser address bar to check which protocol you're using.



2. pop and smtp protocols are supported by WFilter.



Please notice if your email server is in local network, you also need to mirror the email server's traffic to WFilter for email recording. This document might be helpful: http://www.imfirewall.us/help/doc/WFilter_monitor_localservers.htm

If your email servers is in internet, it is supported by WFilter in default.
