Inquiry - How to monitor clients directly connected to the wireless router?

Postby blocking » Sun Dec 12, 2010 8:44 am

I have a wireless router connected to a switch with port mirroring enabled, and I can monitor clients connected directly to that switch.

Unfortunately, I cannot monitor clients connected directly to the router.

My question is:

How can I also monitor clients connected directly to the router (via wireless or cable)? I understand that the monitoring machine should still be connected to the monitoring port on the switch.

To monitor the wirless clients, you need another router and turn current wireless router to a wireless AP.

Please check this wireless deployment example of WFilter: wireless deployment

And this topic is about how to turn a wireless router to an AP: http://forum.imfirewall.us/forum/yaf_postst115_Turn-a-wireless-router-to-an-AP-and-disble-the-routering-functions.aspx
